I have a legacy Google workspace account that manages my personal (non business) domain.
The ones Google tried to get rid of in 2022 and then at the last minute after telling people they'd have to migrate did a u-turn and allowed people to stay on them (https://support.google.com/a/answer/60217).
I've been having weird issues with Gemini web variants including AI Studio on it for a while. I spent a bunch of time with gemini.google.com having it try and help me debug. In the end it had me make this post: https://discuss.ai.google.dev/t/google-workspace-free-legacy-wierdness/126848 claiming Google Engineers monitored that forum but I got zero response.
Independently of the above I had been using gemini-cli (gemini-cli-0.33.0-1.1.x86_64) until 4 days ago when I (validly) hit a hard limit. It told me to wait for 20 hours until the reset but it's been 72 hours since this point and I can't get any response from any model (I've cleared all my state in ~/.gemini).
gemini.google.com debugging session made me create an entire new api setup using 'gloud' but result was same
If I run gemini-cli (no matter what /model I select) I get nothing other than the timer counting up and when I quit the stats show no response to queries.
If I follow the https://ai.google.dev/gemini-api/docs/rate-limits I get redirected to https://aistudio.google.com/rate-limit?timeRange=last-28-days&project=${GEMINI_PROJECT_ID} that shows the popup: “Project quota tier unavailable. Please contact your project administrator for assistance.” and all data fields show “Error loading data.” that I mentioned in the above discuss.ai.google.dev post. I did all the debugging steps gemini suggested to try and resolve it.
https://console.cloud.google.com/iam-admin/quotas?project=${GEMINI_PROJECT_ID} shows all my limits are "unlimited" or a high value and for each my "current usage" is 0.
gemini.google.com claims "unlimited" here doesn't actually mean what you would think it does rather a sign that my account is trapped in some limbo state because they are not free gmail but also not paid workspace. I either have to provide a credit card (that I'm just not willing to do; certainly not when all these reporting pages are so broken) or use a gmail.com account.
Is there anyone from Google who can offer any assistance here?
